When you think of a Florida Keys wedding, you probably imagine turquoise water, swaying palm trees, island breezes, and… iguanas? That’s right! These scaly sunbathers are a part of everyday life here—and believe it or not, they’ve become a familiar face (or tail) at many of our beach weddings.

From flower-munching to surprise photo bombs, the Florida Keys iguana is nature’s ultimate wedding beach crasher. And while they might not RSVP, they definitely show up ready to party—on their own terms.

A Little Iguana 101: Where Did They Come From?

Iguanas aren’t native to the Florida Keys. These prehistoric-looking reptiles actually originate from Central and South America. Over the years, they found their way here through the pet trade and warm tropical climate. Some escaped or were released into the wild, and—surprise!—they adapted quickly to paradise life of the Florida Keys.

Wayne and Kelcey tied the knot in true Florida Keys style — with sand between their toes, the ocean as their backdrop, and a celebration that was equal parts elegant and relaxed. They chose our All-Inclusive Everglades Wedding Package and hosted their wedding at a beautiful private house in the Key Largo area, creating a personal and intimate setting for their closest friends and family.

One of the best things they did? Choosing an all-inclusive package. From décor and planning to florals, desserts, and bar service — everything was taken care of, making the process stress-free and seamless. 

For their ceremony, they exchanged vows under our dark wood arbor, styled with soft white draping and lush white florals with greenery. The setting was picture-perfect — right on the beach, with the calm waters of the Florida Keys Bay stretching out behind them. Our officiant performed a heartfelt ceremony, surrounded by loved ones seated in classic white padded chairs and a soft aisle lined with rose gold lanterns and wedding florals.

Kelcey carried a bouquet of seasonal white blooms, which beautifully matched the natural green-and-white floral design that carried through the entire wedding.

Their reception space featured long farmhouse-style wooden tables, decorated with wooden lanterns, lush white and green centerpieces, and sage green napkins for a touch of softness and modern coastal elegance.

Guests dined under a glowing white tent provided by Keys Audio Party Rentals, complete with a chandelier and bistro lighting overhead that brought a magical ambiance as the sun set. Their gold chiavari chairs added a classic touch of luxury to the laid-back island setting.

 

For the dessert included in their wedding package, Wayne and Kelcey choose a sweet mix of brownies and mini Key lime tarts — both included in their package and a delicious way to offer guests a little variety.

And of course, no Keys wedding is complete without a great bar! Our bartender kept the drinks flowing all night, creating a fun and festive vibe that kept guests dancing and celebrating until the very end by the help DJ Russ Ginsberg

They ended the evening on a wooden dance floor, laughing through the “shoe game” and soaking in every joyful moment. The entire day was beautifully captured by Stacia Morgan Photography, who documented every detail with heart and style.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Payton and Zack’s beautiful wedding at Dolphin Point Suites in Key Largo — a truly unforgettable day filled with love, laughter, and tropical elegance. The couple chose our Alligator Reef All Inclusive Wedding Package, which provided the perfect foundation for their vision. Surrounded by 90 of their closest family and friends, Payton and Zack created a celebration that felt intimate, effortless, and full of island charm.

Most of their guests stayed right on the property, making for a fun and relaxed atmosphere all weekend long. The bridal party got ready onsite, which made the day feel calm and connected from the very beginning. And as luck would have it, the Florida Keys weather was absolutely perfect — sunny skies, warm breezes, and a stunning sunset backdrop.

For the ceremony, the couple chose our signature Bamboo Arbor accented with lush tropical white florals that matched Payton’s tropical lily bouquet. The aisle was lined with bamboo chairs, each with tropical palms and fresh floral touches — creating a dreamy, island-inspired setting that felt both natural and refined.

The reception décor was equally thoughtful and elegant. Payton and Zack opted for a classic white tent from Keys Audio Party Rentals, which is always a popular choice for its ability to provide shade while still letting the island vibes shine through. Inside, we set up round tables draped in crisp white linens, creating a clean, breezy look that paired perfectly with the surrounding ocean views.

Each table was styled with acrylic table numbers, silver votive candles, cylinder vases filled with pillar candles, and tropical palm accents, striking the perfect balance between minimalist and lush. As the sun set over the water, the tent filled with candlelight, laughter, and the soft sound of ocean waves — a truly magical ambiance.

To finish the night, Maggie, our talented baker, crafted a simple yet elegant wedding cake that reflected the couple’s style: classic with a tropical twist.

We had the pleasure of celebrating Meghan and Scott’s Florida Keys wedding at the gorgeous Largo Resort. With 40 of their closest family and friends, they created a day full of love, joy, and unforgettable memories.

The Everglades All-Inclusive Wedding Package is designed to make planning easy and stress-free. Meghan and Scott enjoyed a full experience with flowers, furniture, and more. For photography, hair, and makeup, they chose Stacia Morgan Photography and the Florida Keys Bridal Team. Music was customized to set the perfect vibe.

Personalized Details to Make the Day Special

To add extra charm, the couple included bridesmaids’ bouquets, wrist corsages for the moms, and boutonnieres for the groom and groomsmen. Every detail reflected their personal style while keeping the tropical Keys atmosphere.

The Ceremony

For their ceremony, Meghan and Scott incorporated tropical florals for the arbor and aisle décor, giving the space a lush, island feel. They even included a heartfelt wine box ceremony. Guests sat on bamboo chairs, complementing the tropical backdrop as the couple exchanged vows in front of family and friends.

Cocktail Hour and Reception

During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a non-alcoholic bar provided in the Everglades package, while Meghan and Scott brought their own beer, wine, and liquor. Cocktail tables were adorned with white spandex linens and large floral centerpieces. The welcome table featured a 4ft farmhouse table with a tropical arrangement to greet guests warmly.

Dinner Experience

The couple upgraded to Farmhouse tables arranged in a U-shape, fostering conversation and connection. Navy chiffon runners, navy napkins, tropical orange florals, bamboo chargers, and bamboo chairs created a vibrant yet elegant tropical atmosphere. Guests enjoyed Prime Rib, Grilled Chicken with veggies, and a refreshing House Salad.

Dessert and Sweet Memories

Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Meghan and Scott chose the included dessert package. This simple yet sweet ending allowed them to enjoy more time with guests.

So, they decided to upgrade to a secluded Key Largo beach spot for an intimate experience, inviting just a handful of their closest friends to witness their special day. It was the perfect blend of love, nature, and fun!

Lisa had a fantastic vision for the design. She wanted a colorful, tropical vibe with coral and turquoise as the main colors, plus pops of yellow and orange to give it that bright, beachy feel. It really captured the laid-back yet stunning atmosphere they were going for. They chose our Dark Wood 2-Post Arbor, draped with white and turquoise fabric, and topped it all off with gorgeous, vibrant tropical florals that popped against the blue sky and ocean backdrop.

The aisle was lined with gold lanterns, decorated with beach shells and driftwood, which gave the ceremony a warm, Florida Keys charm. And because the couple wanted to make sure their guests were comfortable, they added bamboo chairs—simple, stylish, and perfect for a Keys beach celebration.

One of the highlights of their ceremony was the sand ceremony, where they mixed beach sand and turquoise sand as a symbol of their union. It was such a sweet and meaningful moment. After the ceremony, everyone relaxed with a glass of chilled champagne and watched Christopher and Lisa share their first dance to “Forever After All” by Luke Combs—a song that perfectly fit the love and joy of the day.

Lisa went all in with her beach-themed details, starting with her seashell bridal bouquet that was absolutely stunning. Christopher wore a starfish boutonnière, tying everything together perfectly. For their cake, Lisa decided to upgrade to a 2-tier wedding cake, which looked as gorgeous as it tasted! She even brought her own custom cake topper and added fun touches like hand fans for the guests and little beach keepsakes for everyone to take home. It was these personal, thoughtful details that made the day feel so unique and special.

We’re so grateful to Christopher and Lisa for letting us be part of their big day. From the colorful décor to the sandy ceremony and champagne toasts, it was a perfect Florida Keys beach wedding—full of love, joy, and a little beach magic.

From the start, Linn had a clear vision for her wedding bouquet, inspired by soft baby pinks, delicate baby’s breath, and touches of pampas grass—and the final result was nothing short of beautiful!

For the ceremony, they chose our dark wood arbor adorned with florals that complemented Linn’s bouquet, while florals lined the aisle to complete the romantic setting.

The Everglades package includes an officiant from our team, and Linn and Daniel chose to extend their ceremony with a meaningful handfasting ritual. For the reception, they opted for round tables with white linens and bamboo chairs. The place settings featured gold victorian acrylic chargers and gold silverware for a classic touch and sage green napkins to complement the bridesmaids’ dresses.

Linn wanted something unique for her centerpieces, so we brought in beautiful wooden hexagon floral holders to match her bouquet, bringing her vision to life.

At their sweetheart table, they selected a half-moon table with white linens, complemented by elegant gold Chiavari chairs for a touch of glamour.

One of the highlights of their wedding was a unique twist on the traditional toast—guests grabbed mojitos from our wooden mojito wall as they entered the reception to raise a glass to the newlyweds!
