Snorkeling in the Florida Keys: The Ultimate Wedding Week Adventure If you’re heading to the Florida Keys for a wedding—or

Jasmin and Harley had a beautiful intimate elopement at the magical Key West Butterfly Garden, one of the most unique and romantic places in Key West to say “I do.” This venue truly feels like stepping into another world — a tropical paradise filled with thousands of butterflies gently floating through the air, lush greenery, colorful flowers, peaceful waterfalls, and charming winding pathways. It’s quiet, intimate, and incredibly picturesque, making it perfect for couples looking for something meaningful and unforgettable.

The Butterfly Garden offers a serene, climate-controlled glass conservatory, so couples can enjoy the beauty of nature while staying comfortable throughout their ceremony. Along with butterflies, you’ll often see beautiful tropical birds, koi ponds, and dreamy garden scenery everywhere you turn — it’s like getting married inside a living fairytale.

Michael, our wonderful officiant, performed a heartfelt ceremony for Jasmin and Harley and included a sand ceremony, where they incorporated their small children for a touching family moment. After the ceremony, they experienced one of the most magical parts of this location — releasing butterflies, a symbolic and emotional moment that represents transformation, new beginnings, and love taking flight.

Our talented photographer Jesica captured every beautiful detail — the joy, the peaceful surroundings, the laughter of their children, and the romantic atmosphere the Butterfly Garden naturally creates.

If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels intimate, romantic, and truly different, the Key West Butterfly Garden is one of the most breathtaking places to elope in the Florida Keys — a place where nature, love, and magic come together.

Rueben and Lorena chose our Seven Mile Ceremony Only Package and selected the stunning Smathers Beach in Key West as their ceremony location. They invited 40 of their closest family and friends to celebrate their special day. Convenience played a big role in their planning — they stayed at a hotel right across the street, making the day stress-free and easy for everyone. After the ceremony, they headed to a local restaurant for their dinner reception and wrapped up the night soaking in the lively, fun energy that Key West is known for.

For their ceremony décor, they selected our beautiful bamboo arbor, draped in soft light pink and white fabric for a romantic, coastal look. Their aisle featured a charming burlap runner and white lanterns, with added rose petals and starfish on the chairs for an extra seaside touch. We also set bamboo ceremony chairs, which tied the look together perfectly with a warm tropical island feel.

Their ceremony was performed by our officiant and included a heartfelt sand ceremony, symbolizing their union as they exchanged vows. Every moment was captured by one of our talented Key West photographers, Jesica. Lorena carried a beautiful bridal bouquet filled with blush pink, deep pink, and ivory florals, adding the perfect pop of color against the ocean backdrop.

More and more couples, like Rueben and Lorena, are choosing ceremony-only wedding packages instead of a full traditional reception. Couples love that it keeps the day simple, meaningful, and budget-friendly while still allowing them to celebrate in a stunning location like Key West. A ceremony-only option gives them the freedom to relax, enjoy the moment, focus on the experience, and then continue the celebration their own way — whether that means dinner at a local restaurant, a private gathering with loved ones, or exploring the island. It’s stress-free, intimate, and still incredibly memorable.

Key West itself adds so much charm to these types of weddings — from the gentle ocean breeze to turquoise waters and breathtaking sunset skies. It has a laid-back island atmosphere combined with unforgettable beauty, making it the perfect place for couples who want something meaningful without all the pressure of a big reception.

As the couple took photos, guests enjoyed the gorgeous sunset — the perfect ending to a beautiful Key West wedding day!

A Tropical Celebration in Paradise:

The Wedding of Mr. & Mrs. Schreiber

Full Wedding

Samantha & Daniel’s Elegant Florida Keys Wedding

When Samantha and Daniel began planning their wedding, they dreamed of a celebration that blended elegance with the natural beauty of the Florida Keys. Surrounded by 75 of their closest family and friends, their vision came to life on the sparkling shores of Key Largo. Best of all, with our Alligator Reef All-Inclusive Wedding Package in the Florida Keys, the entire process was seamless from start to finish.

A Bride with a Clear Vision

From the very first meeting, Samantha knew exactly what she wanted: a timeless, white, and clean look. This style allowed the tropical palms, lush greenery, and blue ocean to take center stage. As a result, her wedding design felt fresh, elegant, and perfectly suited for a beach celebration in the Keys.

Her bouquet became a statement piece — loose, flowy, and all-white, with no greenery for a soft, organic effect. Against her gown, it was breathtaking. Meanwhile, the bridal party wore sage green dresses that added just the right touch of color, enhancing the tropical backdrop without overpowering it.

A Morning of Beauty and Excitement

The wedding day began with hair and makeup by the talented Elaine Hampson. She created soft, beach-ready curls and natural, glowing makeup that held up beautifully in the island breeze. In addition, the bridal suite was filled with excitement, laughter, and meaningful moments of anticipation before the ceremony.

This preparation set the tone for a relaxed, stress-free day — something every couple hopes for when planning a destination wedding in the Florida Keys.

A Romantic Ceremony by the Sea

Under a two-post bamboo arbor draped in flowing white fabric, Samantha and Daniel exchanged their vows. Additionally, lush floral arrangements framed the ocean backdrop, while white padded chairs lined the aisle. Two large floral end pieces were later repurposed for the sweetheart table, adding both elegance and value.

Our in-house officiant delivered a heartfelt ceremony. Finally, as the couple shared their first kiss, guests showered them with petals — a joyful moment that set the tone for the evening ahead.

An Elegant Reception Under the Stars

Afterward, guests moved to a stunning waterfront reception. Round tables were styled with white linens, cylinder vases, pillar candles, and gold-trimmed charger plates paired with nude napkins. To elevate the setting even more, Samantha chose gold silverware as an elegant upgrade.

Dinner was a feast of marinated flank steak, chicken and vegetable paella, creamy mashed potatoes, and fresh vegetables. In addition, guests enjoyed the couple’s signature drinks — a margarita and a Moscow mule.

When the music began, DJ Russ Ginsberg kept the dance floor full all night. Consequently, the mix of upbeat songs, laughter, string lights, and the soft ocean breeze created a magical island-chic atmosphere.

Why Florida Keys Weddings Are So Magical

Samantha and Daniel’s wedding showcased everything couples love about the Florida Keys — breathtaking views, tropical air, and a laid-back vibe that instantly puts guests in celebration mode. Furthermore, our all-inclusive Florida Keys wedding packages make it easy for couples to enjoy their day without stress.

Snorkeling in the Florida Keys: The Ultimate Wedding Week Adventure

If you’re heading to the Florida Keys for a wedding—or planning your own—there’s one adventure you don’t want to miss: snorkeling! With crystal-clear waters, vibrant coral reefs, and friendly marine life, the Keys are home to some of the best snorkeling spots in the country. And the best part? Snorkeling is the perfect group activity to enjoy with your wedding guests before or after the big day.

Why Snorkeling in the Keys is So Special

The Florida Keys stretch out like a necklace of tropical islands, surrounded by warm, shallow waters and home to the only living coral barrier reef in the continental U.S. From sea turtles and colorful fish to living coral gardens and even sunken shipwrecks, the underwater world here is nothing short of magical.

Whether you’re an experienced snorkeler or just curious to try, there’s something for everyone.

Best Snorkeling Spots in the Florida Keys

1. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (Key Largo)
This is where it all begins—America’s first underwater park. It’s a must-see for anyone staying in Key Largo for a wedding. With guided snorkeling trips leaving daily, your group can swim through reef systems filled with parrotfish, angelfish, and the famous Christ of the Abyss statue.

2. Alligator Reef (Islamorada)
Don’t worry—despite the name, there are no gators here! This reef is named after a shipwreck and is one of the most colorful and lively spots in the Upper Keys. It’s also perfect for a group charter boat—ideal for a wedding week outing.

3. Sombrero Reef (Marathon)
Known for its picturesque underwater scenes and easy snorkeling, this is a great spot to bring friends and family of all ages. Charter companies in Marathon often offer half-day trips that are great for a break between wedding events.

4. Looe Key Reef (Big Pine Key)
This protected reef is known for its impressive coral formations and big schools of fish. A snorkeling trip here makes for a perfect laid-back day before the big “I Do.”

5. Dry Tortugas National Park
If you’re extending your trip, consider this once-in-a-lifetime excursion. Located 70 miles west of Key West, you’ll snorkel around Fort Jefferson in unbelievably clear water filled with marine life—and history!

What to Expect on a Snorkeling Trip

Most snorkeling tours include all your gear, snacks, and drinks, and some even offer private charters—perfect for bridal parties, groomsmen, or a “thank you” outing for your guests. Expect calm waters, warm sunshine, and endless photo ops. (Yes, even the underwater kind!)

Be sure to pack reef-safe sunscreen, a rash guard or swim shirt, and your sense of adventure.

Snorkeling + Weddings = Memories That Last

Planning a wedding in the Florida Keys isn’t just about the ceremony—it’s about the full experience. Snorkeling trips are a unique way to bring everyone together. Imagine your friends and family laughing, exploring coral reefs, and making incredible memories in paradise—all before celebrating your love.

Whether it’s a welcome activity, a post-wedding wind-down, or part of your honeymoon, snorkeling adds that extra dose of tropical fun. It’s also a great way for guests to connect and enjoy the natural beauty that makes the Keys so unforgettable.

Bonus Tip: Make It Part of Your Package

Many wedding packages in the Florida Keys can help coordinate group snorkeling trips or even private catamaran charters. If you’re planning your wedding with us, let us know you’re interested—we love helping couples and their guests enjoy the full island experience.

So grab your mask, hold hands with your favorite person, and dive into one of the most beautiful parts of your Florida Keys wedding adventure—literally!

Because nothing says “best day ever” like a little salt water, a lot of laughter, and a sea turtle or two.
